You should be seeing two audio devices listed there This thread is locked. If it does, I know you are not going to believe this, but for some crazy reason having 4 GB of memory installed on that platform causes the sound not to work.

I have the same question I’ve run the troubleshooter program from the control panel many times – it often concludes hdakdio a “cannot repair” message indicating an issue with HD Audio. I have the same question.
